African Heritage Month

African Heritage Month

Thank you to everyone for helping us celebrate African Heritage Month here at Joseph Howe School. We had virtual guest speakers for a full school virtual assembly featuring Kate MacDonald and Quentrel Provo and class virtual visits by Jessica Bowden, and Shauntay Grant. We also had students and staff reading stories and conducting research, learning about local leaders and heroes, and displaying artwork around the school. The Black Anthem was played at morning announcements, and an African Nova Scotian Heritage quiz question featuring people like George Dixon and Maxine Tynes read every morning by ANS students with prizes for each class. The Learning Continues!
